- Russell Foster Aldwinckle was Professor of Systematic Theology at McMaster Divinity College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The service begins with a scripture reading and prayer (0:00-1:24). Aldwinckle’s message is entitled “Theology Without Hope.” Aldwinckle begins by stating “that any theology that eliminate the hope of continued existence after death in Christ is really a theology without hope” (2:18-5:36). After which, he discusses the future of the Christian faith and theology (5:37-10:18). He continues by exploring the roots of that the doctrine of God, and the theology of the afterlife (10:19-25:19). He summarizes the “results of this kind of approach to the renewal of faith and hope in Christian theology in our generation” (25:20-46:30). He concludes by challenging his audience to recognize their citizenship in God’s kingdom (46:31-47:13). The service closes in prayer (47:14-47:40).
