Julian S. Hopkins was from the Department of Evangelism of the North Carolina Baptist State Convention. Dr. Binkley reminded the students that we are called to friendship with God and those in our Christian family.
Thomas Albert Bland was Professor of Christian Sociology and Ethics (1956-1993). Dr. Bland opens his sermon in prayer and reading of his source text, Hebrews 11:1-16. Dr. Bland challenged the students to be people of great faith. He noted that men of Christian faith are exiles and strangers on this earth. Dr. Bland speaks for the entirety of the recording.
Sunder Devaprasad was a student at SEBTS. Devaprasad preaches about Jesus and the crippled man. He shares that evangelism should radiate from the Christian life. He encourages those in chapel that the only message a Christian should be proclaiming is the gospel message. Devaprasad speaks from 0:22-21:28. There is closing music from 21:30-21:54. John William Eddins, Jr. was Associate Professor of Theology. He begins the service by reading the source text of the sermon, Romans 1:16-17, and a prayer from 0:00-2:38. Dr. Eddins preaches the rest of the time from 2:46-21:53. Eddins shares the importance of faith. He states that we should desire to have the life of God within us and through us. Eddins reminds the students that only the gospel has the transforming power to change the face the the world.
Lee Gallman was the Director of the Howard Plan of Extension Work. The service begins with a word of prayer from 0:00-2:37. Dr. Newman introduces the speaker from 2:39-6:48. Dr. Gallman speaks from 8:05-31:43. Gallman preaches on agape love and how Christians are called to share that love with others. He encourages the students to fulfill their calling to missions. Pope Alexander Duncan was Professor of Church History. Dr. Duncan opens the service in prayer from 0:00-3:50. Duncan preaches the rest of his message from 3:59-15:30. Professor Duncan's sermon is titled, "Amen and Amen." Duncan states that to say "amen" is to place your faith and trust in God. He notes that Jesus is the source of our faith. A closing prayer is given from 15:32-16:26.
Kenneth Owen White was the president of the Southern Baptist Convention. The service begins with an opening word of prayer from 0:00-3:33. Dr. White is introduced from 3:36-5:51. White preaches from Ezekiel 2. He tells the students that they don't necessarily choose to be a pastor but that God chose them to be. Rev.
