- M. Ray McKay was Professor of Preaching. This unique service was the 10th spring graduation commencement service since the creation of the Seminary in 1951. The service starts with a word of prayer from 0:00-1:43. Music plays from 1:45-4:28. Isaiah 52:1-10 is read from 4:46-7:38. A prayer is offered from 7:39-9:53. Ruth Lassiter, a senior, presents the senior class gift to Dr. Stealey and the Seminary from 10:05-11:07. Dr. Stealey recognizes and welcomes those who are in attendance from 11:20-13:58. Music plays from 14:09-17:56. Dr. Stealey introduces the speaker from 18:03-21:57. Dr. McKay speaks from 21:58-51:42. He delivers an address to the graduating class to proclaim the gospel faithfully. - The service begins with the theme of worship as the responsibility of growing missionary churches (00:00-00:32), the reading of Isaiah 52:1-7 (00:33-02:49), and prayer (02:50-04:45). The service continues with singing (04:46-08:17). There is no introduction for the speaker, M. Ray McKay, but he was Professor of Preaching at SEBTS. He begins by saying that every informed and obedient Christian is a missionary, for God in Christ displayed this exact love toward the world (08:18-15:49). The third aspect for Christians in this way is maturity, which can be reached in no other fashion than to have the world on their hearts in the same way as God (15:50-18:16). Everyone, everywhere who is an informed, obedient Christian is a missionary, and this task is not only up to foreign missionaries but up to local churches as well (18:17-19:33). He then responds to “how” to grow a missionary church by saying the pastor must be: first, a missionary himself in understanding, spirit, and purpose (19:34-20:08); second, the pastor will include missions in his preaching (20:09-21:07); third, he must have a planned educational procedure for the church (21:08-23:06). He closes with a benedictory prayer (23:07-23:31), and the service ends with singing (23:32-24:36).

- M. Ray McKay was Professor of Preaching at Southeastern. Rev. McKay speaks on three different occasions throughout the recording: 0:30-10:04, 15:39-20:45, and a closing prayer from 23:07-23:41. McKay opens up the service with an introduction and announcements to the students. There is an opening prayer and a scripture reading from Luke 15:11-31. McKay titles his sermon after the hymn, "Teach Me To Live." This hymn plays from 10:07-15:35. Dr. McKay discusses how Jesus lived a life of great investment in people and that to live a life of greatness is to also be invested with God and with others. The Prayer of Saint Francis is sung from 20:45-23:03.
