Anderson shares two results of the reformed critical approach of the gospels and gives examples of how to teach such an approach: first, that the disciples were speaking theologically instead of historically and that the preacher should teach it in the same way, and second, that the authors of the gospel related the material in their books to real life situations (14:29-31:44). Anderson speaks about the ways people interpret the gospels and teach them, giving an example of his own method using the text of Mark 8:13-21 (31:45-48:18). Anderson remarks about his wonder on how young pastors relate to those with lifetime experiences in their congregations (48:19-51:00). He says that “imagination is the indispensable companion of authentic Christian hope” (51:01-54:46). There is an announcement for a picture taking session (54:47-55:14).     Description:
    Olin Trivette Binkley was the 2nd President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Professor of Christian Sociology and Ethics. The service begins with a prayer (0:00-2:37). He demonstrates the three intentions of curriculum which are to: establish lifelong habits, encourage the search for knowledge and to provide opportunity for further education (21:08-22:40). He concludes by discussing how Southern Baptists fit into theological education (22:41-26:43). He closes in prayer (26:44-27:10).

    Dr. Edwin Luther Copeland was Visiting Professor of Missions at SEBTS. This chapel address was presented during the Spring 1989 Convocation. In this message, Dr. Copeland's subject was "Three Particular Areas in which the Unitive Mission of Christ Uniquely Intersects with the Intellectual Mission of Theological Education." Dr. Copeland says that Western secular culture, religious pluralism, and the inner division of Christianity are major challenges in this area.
