    Clyde Penrose St. Amant was David T. Porter Professor of Church History at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The service begins with a prayer (0:00-1:25). Amant’s message is themed “Christian ministry with a historical perspective.” Amant begins with an introduction concerning what it means to be in ministry (5:54-8:47). After which, he illustrates the various issues concerning historical vocational ministry, demonstrating the need for Christian freedom (8:48-16:56). He demonstrates that there must be a “theological renewal” that must “address itself to the larger history of our time” (16:57-47:23). The service closes in prayer (47:24-48:44).
