- Description:
- Wesner Fallaw was Professor of Religious Education at Andover Newton Theological School. The service begins with a word of prayer (0:00-1:26). The speaker welcomes everyone and introduces Dr. Fallaw (1:27-3:42). Dr. Fallaw focuses on human innovation regarding the product of Christian nurture (3:43-7:35). He explains that a Christian educator must realize that God is the true educator as well as highlights the difference of learning about God and learning of God (7:36-12:35). Dr. Fallaw transitions to examining the learner’s character and personality as both affect the learner’s educational experience (12:36-24:47). He discusses that the church is supposed to be a nurturing community of faith: he suggests that a pastor should provide continual guidance/education for a child and his family (24:48-28:00). The church must realize its potential as the body of Christ and the pastor must serve as a father to the church members (28:01-35:14). He continues with the illustration of a shepherd and his flock to encourage pastoral nurturing in the church made possible with efficient preparation from seminaries (35:15-42:00). Dr. Fallaw concludes with a word of prayer (42:01-42:26).

- The audio was transferred from audio cassette. The service opens up with a reading of Scripture which is also used as the source text for the message: James 1:16-25. This takes place from 0:06-1:55. Dr. Kurt Anders Richardson speaks from 2:03-18:49. Richardson remarks that God's good gifts are offered to those who look to the wisdom of God's Word. He says that God is not the author of temptations but of trials and good gifts to persevere through them. We cannot merely listen to God's Word, Richardson notes that has to obey and follow it and let the Lord do His perfecting work within the believer.

- The audio was transferred from audio cassette. Rev. Phil Roberts speaks for the entirety of the recording, preaching from 2 Corinthians 5:14-21. Roberts gives a 3 point sermon on the key motives of Paul's missionary spirit. Sourcing Paul as a great missionary and evangelist, Roberts notes how the love of Christ is powerful and encourages the students to share the Gospel to unbelievers who are hardened to Christianity. He reminds them that God is able to use the weak to glorify His strength.
