He then explains that these verses are relevant due to the American culture reducing joy to fun and the conflicts that were occurring in the Southern Baptist Convention at the time (25:27-27:31). He closes his sermon with telling the congregation to “claim the joy of Christ and share it” (27:32-27:41). A word of prayer is given (27:42-28:04).
