Cecil L. Thompson was a representative of the Foreign Mission Board (International Mission Board). The service begins with an introduction from 0:00-2:10. Dr. Thompson preaches out of John 20:19-23. He states that the students should follow the example of Christ and reminds them to have their faith centered on God. Thompson encourages them to live out the Great Commission. Truman S. Smith was Instructor in Pastoral Care and Director of Student Activities. He shares the story about King Solomon and how he asked God for wisdom soon after he became king of Israel. George H. Shriver, Jr. was Associate Professor of Church History (1959-1973). Shriver reminds the students that Christians should love God and be known for their love for God. He encourages them that God gives them their identity when they place it in Him.
Arthur B. Rutledge was the Director of the Vision of Mission of the Home Mission Board (North American Mission Board). Dr. Scoggin introduces the speaker from 0:00-1:22. There is special music from 1:25-7:00. Dr. Rutledge speaks from 7:10-38:48. Rutledge states that the call to follow Jesus is the call to sacrifice comfort.
B. Elmo Scoggin was Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament for thirty-four years. Dr. Scoggin shares with the students that our gospel must be based on our experience and be convicted and convinced of the gospel claims. He encourages them to share the wonderful story of God's redemptive work in Christ. Dr. Scoggin preaches from 0:00-11:07. Closing music is played from 11:14-11:57.
Joe Wright Burton was Secretary of the Family Life Department of the Baptist Sunday School Board. The service begins with an introduction to the speaker from 0:00-1:45. Dr. Burton preaches a message titled "Sickness in the Family.” Burton uses the story of the prodigal son and encourages the students to bear one another's burdens. He speaks from 1:48-22:33.
